The reason of a failed check has nothing to do with the eventual alerts.
Once an entry has a status, we check all alerts to see if any of the alerts
fits the current status (in combination with previous statusses)

Subject: [SA-list] No alert e-mail sent

I am running two Salive in my network; one just PING the servers and the
other (Salive4) check the Services.

In the Log below there is a failed Oracle service check that did not send
the configured alert e-mail message.
I wonder if that alert e-mail was not generated because the previous line in
the Log is a 1722 error.
Is it a new feature of the last version?

Log with the latest Salive 4 checking SERVICES:

Friday, April 11, 2003 5:26:19 PM ERR: Getservice status - OpenSCManager -
1722-The RPC server is unavailable.
Friday, April 11, 2003 5:26:19 PM NTService check of
OracleOraHome817ClientCache on PHXS9057 failed

Thanks,
Jose.
