I have to say that, although I really like the latest version, I too find
it irritating that the focus has disappeared. I find it much more of a
chore to try and read the "status bar" information to see which check is
being done, especially as the SAlive monitor is situated at the end of a
number of desks (so that all of the admin staff can see it).

In the latest beta you can change the colors

As for the focus due to "complaints" about it we decided to remove that.
