Assuming that you are using a true Novell client, and not just the one included in Win XP...Are you sure that you are using an IPX address?...it requires a different format than a regular IP address or netbios name. I upgraded to the same client you referenced on one of my machines, and it is working just fine. Right now I am checking ping, number of volumes mounted, active connections, and CPU utilization, on a Netware 4.11 server...this is what resolved it for me...
"The IPX Ping and IPX Diagnostic Ping options are available if the Novell Netware client is installed and if the host name is entered as an IPX address. Example: 352FBA2B:000000000001).", I did NOT put in a pretty name for the server... -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of JEFF SPRINGER Sent: Friday, August 15, 2003 1:40 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [SA-list] ipx ping Have not tried it before as I have only been monitoring NT/2000 servers, but they want to expand the use to include our Netware servers. >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 08/15/03 11:41AM >>> Did it work before? I have the Netware 4.83 client loaded on my machine. Every time it tries to check, the status comes back 'unavail' or it gives no status at all. Will SA work with this level Novell client? What else might be wrong? It worked this way at an older build, so I downloaded the 1479 build and it still works this way. Anyone else trying ipx ping against Netware servers?
