I monitor abends with S Alive. All I have done is used the countfiles to check for the existence of the abend.log in sys:system. Since I only have 4 Novell servers I do this with mapped drives. I have given the user minimum rights so that it only has the ability to check for this file and restricted the login back to the IP address of the SA machine.

I haven't had a chance to try the SNMP with NetWare so I am not sure whether you can use this (I'm sure you can!) If you work it out let me know!

Thanks

Subject: [SA-list] novell abends

Hi All,

I have recently set up SA to monitor a bunch of novell 5.1/6 servers.  Does anyone know of a way to monitor a server and alert on ABend?  Is there an SNMP OID that anyone knows of to do this?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
CR
