Next time it happens, I’ll see if I can take a closer look, maybe even get the logging info !

(I’ve been using this list for ages, and I still didn’t give you the version number in my first post, doh !)

hmmm what version of SA?

(it should give a down and as reason the authentication problem since the error occured during the authentication part).

Subject: [SA-list] NT Process Check

I've setup and alert to monitor a machine (W2k Prof) which had a particular process that regularly crashed.

Yesterday morning, Salive did not show a DOWN status and when I right clicked the check the status was "No process check due to authentication problems".

When I edited the check to confirm the user/passwd, when I went to list the processes I got a different error "Err 1130 not enough server storage is available to process this command".

A physical check of the machine shows that it had locked up and required a reboot, hence it wasn't an authentication problem. Shouldn't SA pick this up a DOWN status rather than flagging it as an authentication issue ?
