Saving the file, then forcing the autoload via SETUP-GENERAL-STARTUP worked.
Thanks,

No it's not. Create the entries, save it using FILE-SAVE. Then quit SA. And after starting it again load it via FILE-LOAD (or force an autoload via the SETUP-GENERAL-STARTUP)
dirk.

I have tried saving entries by selecting File->Save (or File->SaveAs). The interface forces a .txt suffix.
When I restart SA, the Setup values are there, but the entries are not. If I try to select File->Import old hostfile, and select the .txt file saved there, I get this message:
Servers Alive?
Datafile doesn't have the right structure, will only load the first
good part of it
If, instead, I try File->Open, and select the saved file, it seems to load (there are no warnings), but no entries appear, and any attempts to add any by hand have no effect.
In the log file, I am getting this message:
tree_add_item: Method '~' of object '~' failed( 0)
This is an unregistered copy...is registration required to load a configuration file?
