If the down was in the first then the 2nd cycle should even try an SK
anymore.

Down, and I saw the 2nd knock for the first cycle.

No the 2nd knock is done at the end.
Was the entry up or down at the 1st cycle?

Made the changes
1st cycle - looked good
2nd cycle - alert occured at the check 1st time, didn't see a second
knock. Although, it did seem to take a little longer...

Is it possible the second knock happened immediately instead of waiting
for the end of the cycle?

Try the following:
Open the entry, edit the alert and remove the " that is within the
message of the SMTP body. Then test again.

It looks like there is some kind of bug within the save of the alerts
(probably introduced with a change we did for alerts with " in their
"body".

This is the entry I use for testing, I take it up and down quite
frequently, watching SA as I do.

Can you send me a small hostfile (one entry) that has the problem? I
can't repro it.

I've noticed that when I have an alert set with a when of X times, and
the 2nd Knock turned on, I get the alert BEFORE the 2nd knock of the 2nd
down cycle.

Should this not wait until after the 2nd knock?
