Hey Brent, that's a good thought. I do want all alerts to all people. But how would you get it to send the alert, and only send it once? What about when it's back up? Man, I really miss using the MAPIsend with the external alerts.... Oh well ... :) But you've got me thinking, thanks!

This template could be HTML, or for that matter, it could be plain text. Then, send the contents of the file using Postie, my favorite command-line email tool: http://www.infradig.com/postie/index.shtml Now, that only lets you send all alerts to all people - if you wanted to get fancy, you could create different templates for different groups of people. It's just a thought on how you could get started doing it yourself. -------------------------------- Brent Ozar - UniFocus -------------------------------- "For most of history, Anonymous was a woman." Point of view your request isn't as simple as it looks. Since you can now configure multiple alerts (mail even) per entry how should SA then know which ones to group? All? If all then you could get several doubles. >From my point of view this is not something I want within the generic product as such it would cause way too many problems and exceptions. If you want this as custom dev contact me offlist and tell me exactly what/how/...and we can talk about it. We had to stop using MAPI alerts when we started running SA as a service. Dirk, I know I've spoken to you about this before, but I'd like to see what it would cost to possibly do something like this for us, if no one else wants it. Or would it work, if we just acquired a third party SMTP mailer, and used it as an external check? Thanks a lot for a great product! Jesse.
