Do you have the info ie:what traps are set when
certain things happen? If you can find out what's set (say) when a backup
fails then you can have Salive looking for that condition and then act on it,
ie: send email,page,alarm..

Is there a simple tutorial on how to act on these
traps?

Backup Exec can only send SNMP traps, traps that can be
received by Servers Alive. BUT Servers Alive can "act" on these
traps.
Dirk.
Yes, I know, we used to do this, but now we
would like to use Servers Alive to route the alerts to the People or Team on
call.

Backup exec can
be configured to send you alerts. Messenger or
email.

Backup Exec Jobs
Has anyone on the list used SA
to monitor Veritas Backup Exec? Specifically, monitoring to alert
when a job Fails, or when Operation intervention is needed (to insert
another tape for example).
I know that Backup Exec will
use SNMP, but so far, I can't figure out how to use SNMP. So if
anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be
thankful.
