Gene,
Thanks for coming back. I have tried VERY hard to set up setup/output/html
page/default page properly. I have succeeded in publishing to a local
directory quite satisfactorily. But FTP'ing is something else.
I think my problem is to do with "page name" and/or "remote name" - what
they supposed to MEAN, and what are typical values.
a) Page name
I have worked out that this MUST resolve to a local file such as
"c:\abc.html" (the edit box has a "..." button next to it which helps
encourage this interpretation). And indeed anything that is not a valid
filename such as "fred" generates errors. When FTP'ing what is the usage of
Pagename? What does it mean to have an entry here? Surely template or
header/footer are parsed to create the entire final server status page.
Also this file MUST exist.
b) Remote name
This entry is at least badly documented. I initially thought was just some
random name so I left it blank. Later I worked out it might mean the
directory where the server status file was to be stored so I put in
"/docs/popg". Errors in the log showed that to be wrong. Finally putting
in "\docs\popg\ss.html", i.e. a directory and filename works - in that the
error looks different.
I have tried every permutation and combination in these boxes imaginable -
no success. I have read and re-read all the documentation, I have read the
FAQ and searched the archives. And I am quite stuck right now.
My current values for these fields are
page name = Z:\ss\ss.htm
remote name = \docs\ss.htm
