Essie, what build of the program are you using? I had a very similar problem with
ghost entries, or as you described ' invisible entries' with some of the very early
builds of version 4.0. Dirk fixed them quite a while ago. There was also at some
point in time a problem with an earlier build where something Dirk did to the program
either added extra, or didn't add enough quotes to some of the items in the hosts
file. If you're running an old build, you might want to upgrade to the newest build.
Otherwise maybe Dirk could take a look at your hosts file for missing or extra quotes.

Morning,
After making changes to my entries, I proceed to save my setting. So I go to
File -> Save/Save As -> hostentries2.txt. When I restart the application,
some of my settings like SMTP email alert to alternative email has
disappeared. My scheduling time for all entries has been reset to check
everyday all day. This doesn't happen everyday but continuously for 5 times
already since I first install the product in January.
I also notice that when I try to add the SMTP email alert to alternative
email again. I notice there is a blank space between the primary email
setting and the alternative email setting. When I edit that invisible entry
I notice that the To, Subject and Message body is filled but the When part
is empty ("When (blank) times down") The first option is selected but the
field is empty. I don't remember setting this entry so I delete it. It
happens to ALL my entries.

Essie Lee

I'm not able to reproduce this kind of behaviour.
Can you give a step-by-step "script" that always gives the problem?
Dirk.

Hi,
When SA is open it shows a hostfile cause in Setup -> General -> Startup
Settings -> Load Startup info from registry is tick and the hostfile is set
to hostentries2.txt. I always remember to save all my changes to
hostentries2.txt.

When SA opens does it show a hostfile? If so make sure that you're saving
to that file and not to another file
Dirk.

Subject: [SA-list] Setting lost for entries
Hi all,
Has anyone encounter problem with SAv4.1 where when it is close and re-open,
certain settings for every entries is lost. Every time when I change a
setting on each entry, I will "Save" (tried "Save As" too) but even with
that I am still losing some setting like my email alert for SMTP alternate
email and my Schedule time. This has happen to all my entries not only to a
few. It gets annoying after a while, as I have to keep on redoing it. This
will be my 5th time redoing it and I currently have 58 entries. Can someone
help me and put me out of my misery. Thank you greatly.

Essie LEE
