Dirk. Don't forget to vote for Servers Alive in the annual Sunbelt Target Awards http://www.sunbelt-software.com/targetawards/ -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Petty, Robert Sent: Tuesday, April 06, 2004 4:54 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [SA-list] painfully long cpu perfmon check I am checking "(Processos,% Processor Time, _Total)" on four new identical servers. They are all Dell 1750 1u Rackmount servers with 2x3.2Ghz Xeons with 2MB of 2nd level cache. Not slow machines at all. The problem is, the very first system I built takes "20730 ms" to return the check value, regardless of time of day or other system load and when it runs, regsvc.exe on the server runs up to 40+% CPU and the check fails 2-3 times a day with various messages. The other three systems return the cpu check every time, in 800-1500ms... Quite a contrast. I realize this is not a Servers Alive problem specifically, but I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion as to what to tune on the server? I am at the point that I am considering rebuilding the system but it runs Citrix and the published application is a major pain to reinstall so fixing the problem is better than reinstalling the OS. Thanks for any suggestions! --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by Declude Virus] To unsubscribe from a list, send a mail message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] With the following in the body of the message: unsubscribe SAlive --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by Declude Virus] To unsubscribe from a list, send a mail message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] With the following in the body of the message: unsubscribe SAlive
