I suddenly started getting very interesting errors with both my HTTPS
checks and my Oracle Checks when I updated two items the day before
yesterday... The Microsoft Patches and SA Beta 1600.

I started getting Type 13 runtime Errors when clicking on HTTPS checks
and Oracle Checks.

Log Showed when checking HTTPS: URL check () failed due to Type
mismatch(line 0)

My machine also hung twice at around 1 am.
----------
I uninstalled the Microsoft Patches, still had the problem.

The HTTPS problem went away when I deleted and recreated the https
checks. Going back to 1591 didn't help.

I also reinstalled back to version 1591 and that fixed the Oracle
Checks.

I also had to retype in the passwords for the HTTPS checks to make them
work correctly after I downgraded from 1600 to 1591.

I did note that password encryption change in the beta change list, not
sure if that's related.

It APPEARS to be working now. Not sure though what exactly is going on.

The first mail I got about it was that SA didn't start anymore. The
user also noted that IE did work correctly anymore. And even on a
different test system (without SA) he got the IE problems.

Other user reports that several SA checks are no longer working and are
giving runtime errors when editing them.

Unfortunatly I can't do any tests for the moment myself, it will have to
wait until April 27th.

Are these problems in regards to SA in particular, or just in general? I
hear that there is a "Proof of concept" released, and thought the
following from MS may be of interest to some:

Customers who are still evaluating and testing MS04-011 should
immediately implement the workaround steps detailed for the PCT/SSL
vulnerability detailed in the MS04-011. In addition, Microsoft has
published a knowledge base article KB187498 at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;187498 which
provides additional details on SSL and how to disable PCT without
applying MS04-011.
