Can you send me (off-list) the hostfile and tell me what entries are not checked.  Also include a logfile of a first cycle.

Dirk,

I can confirm that there are a number of entries, that are set to run only a out of b cycles.

However, the first check cycle runs though the list from the top, down, highlighting consecutive, completed checks until a certain point after which it only checks / highlights a handful of the remaining checks.

The checks that Servers Alive is completing are a mixture of - each cycle, 1 out of 2 cycles and 1 out of  7 cycles, but all the cycles are set to Start Cycle = 1. The checks that appear to be missed are also a mixture of the above cycles.

Any further thoughts?

Andy

The only reason I can see is that several entries are set to run only a out of b cycles and that this is causing the "problem".

Dirk,

loaded the latest version 1.4.1690

After Upgrading to the latest version the initial check cycle ran and only reports 75 UP and 21 Maint.

Stopping and re-starting the check cycle cause only 3 more checks to be processed 78 UP and 21 Maint.

Running the Update command from the Interface caused the whole check list to be processed 225 UP and 24 Maint.

We had to restart the Servers Alive Monitoring System over the weekend after Power Outage Work, and there is some concern that we may not be fully monitoring our systems if Servers Alive is not processing the complete check list from the initial Check Cycle after a restart.

Any thoughts.

Subject: [SA-list] Startup / Interface Issue

After restarting Servers Alive today and actually watching the interface go through its first check, I was a little surprised that it did not go through the complete list of checks.

I am running Version 4.1.1591, it is currently running Interactive and not as a service, and have approx 250 checks.

The first run through it only checked 77 of the 250. Whilst some were on Maintenance, it should still have checked approx 220 of my checks.

Also the Interface only indicated these 77 were checked by changing the colour coding as detailed in the set up section.

I do have some checks running at different frequencies, but all checks are set to start on cycle 1, and so should have been checked at cycle 1.

I had to select the last job on the check list in order to get Servers Alive to go through the complete list.

Has anyone else experienced this? or does anyone have an idea of what I can do to resolve this?

Regards,

Andy Carroll
