The fact that you see it as .ex instead of .exe is a limit
of the task manager, nothing more.
Check if the telephony service is running before starting

Hi, I've been
running SA for a few months now, but just came back from vacation to see that my
monitoring box was down. I brought it up, and see that SA doesn't appear
on the GUI, nor the system tray. FromTask Manager, I can see a process running
"serversalive.ex" Note. the file suffix is "ex" not "exe" which seems
suspicious. I upgraded from 4.1.1591 to 4.1.1609, but still have the same
problem. The program comes up if I run from the start
menu.
