if you give one word, it will try to find that one word within the description (somewere in the description)

I think I have everything set up correctly, and I've followed all the recommendations in the listserv archive, but I can't seem to get the external COM check for event log to return a 'down' condition.
I believe this to be directly related to the 'Description should contain' field. Is there any way to 'wildcard' this entry? Does anyone know if I only insert one word from the real message into this field, will the check find it, or is it expecting the message to be verbatim?
