Title: SA Problems
Create/edit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DBU Consulting\Servers Alive\StartUp\PerItemCycle  (string)
and give it a value between 10 and 5000 (that's in ms), install should have set it to 250ms.

Then restart Servers Alive.

The change will affect the time between two entries checks.

Indeed, I agree with you - but the Notes monitoring is the 'hot' button for some of the people here, since it's difficult to monitor notes outside of it's own system. Once I get Notes working fine, everything else is downhill from there!

It's possible to increase the time between each of the entries, but that seems like a drastic way.

Ah ok, at least I've got something to go on and chase down. Is there anyway to slow down the checks? It seems like it might help, as it only starts to freeze towards the end of the server list, as if it's getting a lot of responses all of a sudden or something along those lines

The main issue with the Notes check (idem for the MS SQL and Oracle check and Netware checks) is that they depend 100% on the correct working of the client libs as they are 'given' by IBM (Microsoft - Oracle - Novell).  And most of those libs aren't 100% working correctly with as result that apps using them do seem to give problems.  I'm afraid that we can't do anything about that...

It is primarily random, but usually happens on a notes server that is using a reserved IP (192.168.x.x, 10.10.x.x) of which there are only 3-4 out of the group. When it freezes, I can still connect to the Notes DB on that machine, as well as run some diagnostics things.
It seems as if it's getting confused somewhere, as it always occurs towards the end of the Notes servers - almost as if it's going to fast. I had half wondered if slowing it down some might do the trick, but am unsure how to accomplish something like that.
Also, every now and then if I'm patient and Minimize and Maximize SA enough (Well, as much as I can min/max it in it's frozen state) it will continue on. I had debug logs on, and would check them when this would happen but all they would say is it was starting the notes check.

If it helps, there's 14 Notes servers it checks, each with the same database name. There's also a website check for these same servers, and they are dependent on the DB check being up.  I hope there isn't a limit to the number of notes dbs! I know have the entire group in Maint, and all seems fine - but if I enable it, she'll lock up next cycle.

Does SA stop on the same one all the time or is it randomly stopping on different ones?
When SA is freezed can you connect to that server (notes) using the Notes client that is on the SA machine?

Hello all,
I'm trying to get SA Enterprise setup so I can talk the company into purchasing it and dumping the other solution, but I'm running into a problem. Problem A is when I first startup SA I receive the error "LOADHOST Error - Path not found (0)", the second is that I have approximately 100 checks running, and several of those are via the Lotus notes DB checker - SA seems to just stop working at one of those checks - freezing up totally. I need to get this working so I can be rid of WhatsUp - any help is appreciated!
