Could not repeat using windows XP telnet client. Just connected and then clicked the x as fast as possible (login prompt).

If you connect using a telnet client and disconnect without sending any data, does it give the same?

Dirk.

From the main interface do a CTRL-P, goto TCP-telnet (or whatever protocol you were using) and enable the LINGER option.

And test again.

Regular TCP-telnet check.  Just connecting to be sure telnet is available.  I am using version 4.1.1605.  No downs in server’s alive just a very large syslog database.

What kind of check are you doing?

What version of SA?

does this give a DOWN in Servers Alive?

Dirk.

I am noticing that every check cycle my firewall is logging packets coming form the telnet hosts I am checking an denying them.  I am not sure if it is an issue with the box I telnet to or with server’s alive.  It seems the connection is not closing correctly and I am receiving one packet back form the devices (cisco routers) after Salive has “closed” the connection.  I am not sure when this started but I was wondering if anyone (Dirk) had any ideas what I might do to fix it.
