Hello all. In regard to a previous question about moving SA to a server in
the datacenter and having the sound alert remotely.
I've been doing this for a while, by setting a mail rule in Outlook:
Mail with subject = SALIVE with body = DOWN play Down.Wav Mail with subject
= SALIVE with body = UP play Up.Wav
It's been working for me for about 6 months. Of course you need to leave
your Outlook or Outlook Express running all the time.
What would ROCK is a way to have the alert email SPOKEN...
"WARNING HOST BLAHBLAH WITH CIRCUIT ID ###### IS NOT RESPONDING"
"WARNING WEBSERVER ON HOST BLAHBLAH IS NOT RESPONDING"
Imagine piping it into the intercom system in your office...
And no, I don't have any hosts named "blahblah"
