This can't be done. To my knowledge this is something "fixed" within TAPI
(the telephony API of the OS).

Dirk,

Is there a registry setting or something to make the wait time longer for
the paging function. It seems that the failure comes about because SA gives
up too fast while waiting for the modem to respond.

Thanks,
Lester

I've been trying to check with the paging provider but haven't found the
right person to talk to to get that information yet. As for the logs, each
time a device fails there are two attempts to page with the first attempt
apparently failing. In actuality we get both pages.

>>> "Dirk Bulinckx" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 10/1/2004 7:53:53 AM >>>
Do you only get the doubles if the log shows an error while sending?
Can you check with your paging provider if he realy gets two requests?

No, the test send only sends one page.

If you do a test send (test button) do you get it twice too?

Tom, no we're not running terminal services on this machine. SA is running
as a service and we access the server via pcanywhere.

Dirk, here is the log. It appears that the dial out fails once, but we
actually get 2 pages.

Any ideas?

By any chance - do you terminal services to access the server SA is
running on?

We have SA run on startup, and someone logging in via Terminal services
launches a second copy and causes us to get duplicate alerts - since its
running twice.

Just a thought....

Interesting. I only have one Team setup with 6 people all defined in
the Team. I actually send out pages based on the person though, not the
team.

Dirk, from what I can tell, it looks like the dial out fails then tries
again. I'll pull up the log again tomorrow and post it.

Thanks

That's what happened when I accidentally got my pager into 2 different
teams.... double pages on everything!!

Greg

Yes, I have seen this, but not repeatedly. It acted like a person was in
a team twice.

For some unknown reason our SA install started sending two pages for
every alert. Has anyone seen this anomoly? I just installed 4.1.1609
and that didn't seem to help.

Thanks,
