A possible work around might be to check the spool via
SNMP

Subject: [SA-list] Linux "Sendmail" Monitoring via SSH Telnet app
Currently in the process of fitting a series of alerts into place for a
Linux server running Sendmail. The last major piece is the monitoring of
the account spool files for each mail account. The SSH client(Telnet
app) that Dirk had worked up looked promising until the script required
SUDO login which changes the prompt from a $ to a #
After that, the SSH Telnet app tool isn't able to get a scripted
response. Any known workarounds for SUDO logins in conjunction with the
the SSH/Telnet client? or, another a way to approach the monitoring for this
mail application?
As always, Thank You for time and such a great monitoring solution.
