I guess it depends on how you can interface the pc to turn on/off the x-10. I have an old (vary old) 8switch powerhoue unit and some command line software that allows you to turn module A1 on or A1 off. So I was thinking of doing something along those lines.. X-10 lives forever.. The powerhouse has to be 20 years old and still works and keeps turning the lights on/off at set times...

sounds like a new use for those X10 modules I have hanging around the house!

I have cable and a cable modem that sometimes hangs. You need to power off
and wait a minute then power on. I was thinking of having salive do a ping
of a remote site or the dns or something to see that the cable is up and
working. If that fails the have salive run a batch file. I have x-10 (for
turning lights on/off) and command line software to do the same. If salive
can't see the net then run a batch that would (by way of x-10) turn the
cable modem off, wait a minute and the turn it back on... This MAY clear up
the problem if it's just the cable modem hanging. Any thought's on doing
this???

Thanks..
