I started with a copy of the Servers Alive HTML templates Ver. 2.0 that are
provided on the following site www.ulbrink.dk/toolbox

Check out the Sample on the url above for an idea.

I used the code as a starting point as I liked the way this had been
implemented. I have changed the code so that my page only shows the groups I
have set up, and if there are down conditions these are shown below the
relative group, all other entries are not displayed by default, they can
however be viewed by clicking the Show Group on the right hand side of the
screen, so that you can see all check result when required, as in the
original template.

I now have a single screen that has 20 different groups, and I only get DOWN
conditions showing, therefore when everything is OK, or on Maintenance, I
have just a single webpage with nothing other than the group names showing.

I have also added the number of checks that are either UP / DOWN /
MAINTENANCE, similar to the way it is displayed if you are looking at the
interface

I am note a programmer, but if you would like a copy of my code to use as a
starting point, mail me off list, I take no credit for the programming I
have just used the examples in the original templates to fit my modest
requirement.

How exactly are you showing only the down conditions on a page? I could
really use that is there a template for that? Or just a specific
command?

Andy,

Maybe this isn't exactly waht you are looking for but it may work. How
about your remote
support staff run the 10 check free version of SA to monitor the web
page you view your
status on looking for a "down". I do something similar in that I have a
status page that
shows a specific image with the number of down entries. The image is
only shown when a
down condition exists. I can monitor that status page for that image
with another
machine running SA and send out alerts from that machine as well.

There is some time delay because you are checking on a page that needs
to be generated
first but you can have the second machine check every minutse if you
want as it only
checks one item.

Just a thought, works for me.
