I think the firewall might be blocking I will try to get it open and then follow up if it still doesn't work - Thanks for the help... (file open is the way to go) As for the groups I can only guess that you installed the beta in a different directory then the other version? If so copy the groups.grp over to the new install. As for giving the same error, I can then only assume that you don't have access to port 25 on that remote system. Could be a firewall/router blocking that access. Try TELNET gsmtp171.google.com 25 What does that give? (telnet gsmtp185.google.com 25 OR telnet gsmtp57.google.com 25 should work too) Dirk. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Michael Letschin Sent: Tuesday, December 21, 2004 9:18 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [SA-list] SMTP to GMail I upgraded to the beta and still get the same error. I did notice when I upgraded I lost all my groups I had created. It tells me the old format does not work so now I have to reenter all my machines??? You don't need any kind of authentication. Basically I only want it for my exchange server notifications in case it goes down then my notifications would be gone.
