Not sure if v5 is any different (I doubt it) but in V4.1 when you install SA
it installs the service but does not start it. Per the PDF manual page 9:

Servers Alive can be run as a service if the computer for installation is
running Windows NT, 2000, XP, or 2003. The Setup process detects your
operating system and the service automatically installed. For Servers Alive
to start automatically when you turn on your computer, you must go to the
Services control panel and set the service called Servers Alive to automatic
startup.

I run it as a service on all my machines and use the application just to
create and edit my checks alerts, etc. You have to stop the service before
running the application. Make your edits, save them, ext the app and then
re-start the service.

Subject: [SA-list] Running SA as a service

Is there a way to run SA say as a service without having to have a user
session logged into the system SA is running on?

Thanks,

Steve
