Did it ever work with 2003?    I wonder because I have had the same 
issue with no resolution to this point.  It has to do with an upgrade of 
my software not removing the perfmon counters fully.    I have not yet 
found a way to remove the counters completely.  When listing the 
counters (with SA) you list the correct (current) one but when SA checks 
it checks the old one.
