What about writing a little app to do a telnet into SA and issue the UPDATE
command (causes a new check cycle to begin according to the documentation).
Wouldn't this achieve what you're after. Maybe Dirk can confirm this...

That would mess up the whole checking logic....
No it can't be done in v5 and no there are no plans to add this
