I note you're using the e$ share in your unc based dir. Try setting up a share on the "VS1 SG1 Data" folder itself and doing a unc DIR on that (dir "\\Server\VS1 SG1 Data"). I suspect that will report the correct value but I could be wrong ;). Also, as a matter of interest, what do you get if you run DIR "\VS1 SG1 Data" from the E:\ folder?

Being able to disk free using volume mount points in Windows 2003 E.G. when you mount a volume as a folder being able to get the free disk space that is for that volume rather than the host drive. Add a spare hard disk to a computer and mount the volume to a folder rather than a drive letter and then try to get the free disk space for that folder only.
