The checking is slowing it down....

Was it "just" clicking on PEOPLE within the MENU that generated the crash or did you get the PEOPLE screen and did something in that screen?
Did you access the system via a TS (terminal server) session or directly?

Enterprise 5.0.1675.  Running on Windows 2K server (2195), SP4

I'm afraid i didn't write down the error.  But it has been running several days (and working just fine) and today I selected "People" from the Edit menu and SA died.

I have the system multihomed with two NICs.  One points to a public network, which is the default and the other points to a private network of which I have a couple of static routes setup in windows.

Very often, however, the UI to SA is extremely sluggish.  In order to add or modify entries, I need to stop the checking which frees everything up.  When running, though, there is lots of CPU and RAM available.  Something is slowing down the SA UI.

Save does save to disk....at least from a source code point of view...not sure how the caching of the OS will interfere...
You said that making a change to "people" made it crash, could you tell me what you exactly did and what build of SA you are using?

Subject: [SA-list] Losing monitor entries

I just lost about 25 entries in my monitoring config.  I was very careful to save after I made changes, but when I tried to access "People", SA crashed and i lost everything I updated in the last few days.  I guess the "Save" option doesn't really save?  Should I save and then restart the application to make sure I keep me entries and changes?  Perhaps it would be a good idea to periodically, do a save as also, to back up the latest monitoring file.  Suggestions?

Thanks,

Jim
