It's NOT using ODBC but SQL-DMO to access the SQL database. You need to the
install the SQL DMO libs (part of the custom/full client install)

Subject: [SA-list] SQL Server 2000 connections

I am attempting to setup a monitor that accesses a SQL Server Table. I
have the client installed on the system running SA, but when I attempt
to connect to the Database, I get the following when
testing...."Unsuccessful connection Microsoft SQL-DMO[ODBC SQL State:
28000] Error 18456: [Microsoft ODBC SQL Server Driver]Login Failed for
user 'uswu43573'"

I have successfully created a valid ODBC connection from the client to
SQL Server.
I am not sure why this cannot connect. I am not familiar with SQL-DMO??

Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks-
Bob Smith
