Hi Dirk,

I have tried to run both as an application, and as a service.  I get the error 53 with anything (even the IP) except when I leave it blank.

I did some checking, and if I choose NT Services instead of NT Processes SA likes the AS3.  It seems to be specifically the NT Processes that gets the error 53.

If it would help you troubleshoot I think I have PCA on this machine.  It is running a mail server so it can't be down long but I may be able to get you access. - JW

And on that same machine when using that same name (AS3 or
AS3.domainname.com) you get the error 53? Is SA running as application or
as servicE?

Hi Dirk,

When I type NET VIEW AS3 or AS3.DOMAINNAME.COM, I get a list of shared
resources which consists of the C: drive and then it state that command
completed successfully.

I have not used that command before but it appear to work correctly. - JW

If you do a
	NET VIEW \\<name>

Were the <name> is the hostname as you entered it within Servers Alive, do
you also get the error 53?

Subject: RE: [SA-list] Problems checking processes locally.

Hello All,

I am running into problems checking processes from the local machine.

When I leave the host blank I can get a list of processes running on the
local machine. When I add an IP or host name I get ERR: 53. (The
network path was not found)

I tried to locate the problem myself, and in doing so found a thread by
John Harrington that described my problem perfectly. Unfortunately the
following messages discussed the problem but never had a resolution.
http://archive.serversalive.com/retrievemsg.asp?ID=13567

Anyone that can point me in the right direction?

Thank you in advance for any help or insight.

John Winters
