I'll have to do some testing to see what is
happening...
Can you send me a screenshot of HOW it's configured? (a
screenshot of the COM check config page)
Dirk.

Dirk -
It DOES seem to work when I remove the description (sorry
it took so long for me to test this)... I have also verified that the
PHRASE matches exactly what's in the event log.. Including case, and
spacing...
Thoughts?? Some of these Event ID's are common, and
the only thing that makes them unique is something within the
description.

Are you 100% sure that it should fit what you're giving as
"rules"?
What did you give as config parameters?
Dirk.

Are you using a v1 or a v2 of the eventlog
check?

Dirk... I had SA up and
running.... it said 0 matching entries.. I let it go through the
loop of monitors 3 times... Then I removed a power supply from a monitored
server to generate the event.. Even after 4 more cycles through SA, it
still isn't catching the event id.

It will only
detect new entries in the eventlog, not the old entries.

Subject: [SA-list] External Event log issues...
Hello,
I continue to have problems with the "new" external
Event log check... I have it configured to check for a certain event log
ID that indicates a power supply failure... SA never is able to detect
this for some reason... It's not a security/permissions error... It
just always says "0 matching entries returned" even when the event log ID
exists... HELP!
When I check the SA log file, there is nothing in
it... Which makes sense, the GUI is indicating there is no matching event
ID's!
Is it just me, or do others have problems with this
check??
Thanks,
Troy
