Thanks! I'll take a look at it, but I really need something like our
Eventlog check, that doesn't alert on the same message over and over...
Maybe I can find a way to make this work anyway....

You could write your own... Microsoft has a nice log parsing utility
that allows you to "query" against a text file. The download includes
details on how to use the utility within VB, so you could create and
external com check that "queries" a text file and returns either a
result or an error state.

inside a file (not EVENT logs).... and sending an alert when the string
