Well since this only an "idea" for the moment, I can't tell you anything on the pricing.
However I would not seem strange that the remote agent would not be free of charge. As it's something that needs to be written per OS and takes makes it harded to make... And yes the idea we have is that the communication is done over an SSH-alike protocol, meaning that it is encrypted, however with an option to use it non-encrypted too (as I can imagine that it's more difficult for someone to write an SSH-alike agent on .. (strange OS :-)) then it would be to write in using a telnet-alike protocol). However agent installs with encrypted comms is a great feature. Then your SA install can do real as/400 checks, but as said "we're thinking about it" Dirk. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, July 26, 2005 12:02 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [SA-list] as400 / iseries monitoring We've got a couple of AS/400s as well - not monitoring them yet, although if you find anything else usefel apart from ping and TCP port I'd be very interested to know.
