Title: Countfiles check
Can you access the AIX server via a UNC (\\server\share)?  If not then the countfiles utility won't work.

Subject: [SA-list] Countfiles check

Hi!

I want to monitor when files with a specified pattern appears in a folder on my AIX server.

Can I use CountFiles to do this.

Under the tab Check, I select “External COM” and “CountFiles Check”. I choose “configure” ,  where I insert the path and pattern. I want to be alerted when files are inserted to this directory, so I choose “more then” and “0”

The directory I want to monitor is on a AIX server. When using NT the path is on the format \\IPadress\share\mks

My folder is under /home/test. I tried to write “/home/test/” in the path, and the check result in 0 files found, which is wrong.

I tried to write \\xxx.xx.xxx.xxx\home\test\, and this resulted in “ERR: Bad file name or number”.

May I use this check on AIX, and how do I do it?
