I see what you are saying. The part of the sa_fullpath that I was referring to was what SA is "making". In sa_description I get "Diskspace : \\host\c$&lt; 100 MB" and in the same entry for sa_fullpath I get "... Diskspace : \\host\c$< 100 MB ...".

 

While I am at it, some (3 that I have found) of the fields when generated with the HTML output seem to have a leading white space to the left. For example, for a ping check, the sa_checkresponse is " 100%". Others that have a leading spare are SA_STATS_AVGRTRIP and SA_ROUNDTRIP (when it is non-zero) (but the min and max don't). There might be more, but those are the only ones I see.

You're right, it's done for that field.  The reason it's done in that path is that SA "makes" the description and for some of them the < or > signs are used.

I do see that for some of the tags, such as SA_CHECKDESCRIPTION, the "<" is substituted with a &lt;

That something that is currently not done by Servers Alive.

Adding this is ofcourse possible but would mean a big slow down in the HTML output generation as it would have to be done field by field (and not line by line as each line could also contain other tags that have those chars)

Thanks. This was just what I was needing. The full path gives me both the group and a tree. I didn't see the custom value and custom tag entries in the help file.

 

Now I have an additional question. For some of the descriptions in the sa_fullpath, characters such as < and > are used. For html and xml, the escape sequences should be used. Any thoughts on replacing those characters during generation of the output?

1) you can only have the ID of the group, not the name (sa_groupID), you can also have the full path (sa_fullpath)

2) you can use the sa_fullpath to have the full path of a group.

3) the custom fields can be used within the html output

    sa_custom_value_1 .. sa_custom_value_7

 

    sa_custom_tag_1 .. sa_custom_tag_7

I have been working with the html output and using some of the sa tags. I was wondering if some of the following were possible. I don't currently see a way to do it, but you never know.

1) I would like to have output where the groupname is included in the row with all of the data. (i.e. groupname, prettyname, status, ...) rather than at the header of the group. I know I can put groupname in the group header, but I was hoping to not use the group header.

2) I know that I have an entry's UID and the depends on UID, but is there a way to get some "tree" information in the output? I guess it would be nice to have the full tree path (sort of like the sort ENTRYPATH) but be able to include it in the output.

3) I would also like to be able to include some of the custom information from the custom fields in the output, sort of like a <sa_custom1> tag. I don't see a way to do that now.

Currently I am running version 5.0.1748.
