How do you mean the error checking can take place inside of SA?

The only improvement to this little wonder-bug would be to have the errors 2-4
be negative numbers, and the actual minutes be in a
positive integer.
Then the error checking can take place inside of SA (less than 60 minutes old).
This would greatly assist in reading of the text messages and log files.

However it is not a com check it is an external error level
check. It
works as so
modifiedtime.exe <full_path_and_File_Name> TIME
The time is in minutes by design. It returns various error levels.
0-if ok
1-if too old
2-if file does not exist
3-unknown checking error
4-command line is incorrect

I use forfiles.exe from within a batch file that is used as an
errorlevel check by Servers Alive to perform some of the items you
mention in #2 below. Not as fancy as an external COM
check, but it
gets the job done.
I think it is somewhere in all the recent resource kits,
but if you
google a bit you can get the executable various places
online. (Or
I'll be happy to email it to you if you can accept attachments.)
Here's a bit of info regarding what it does.

2) I need a check for file date/time stamps... A way to
check how old a
file is; is it dated today or not; is it more than 1 hour old, etc.
According to the archives someone wrote an external COM check for
this...
