The domain admin has full local admin rights.

The service was not running. Definitely made sure of that. Servers alive
application was not running at the time.

Is the version it is reporting the correct version? I tried AIM and MSN again
and still received no pages, although I wasn't seeing the same results when I
clicked the test button.

Thanks Dirk,

Matt

No you don't need to uninstall first.
Make sure that during the install the service isn't running anymore.
Also is the domain admin also a local admin?

Dirk.

Hey Dirk, when I installed I received this error (running as a domain admin on
a domain member server on the console):

Servers Alive

Argument not optional( 449) on line 0

I also got it on other line numbers.

Then it said at the end I did not have rights and complained about not being
able to install the service.

Help about shows v5.0.1879. Did I need to uninstall the previous version
first? If I do this, how do I reregister it, as we have a paid copy? Thanks.

Matt

If you're using 5.0.1748 then update to the latest beta build
http://Beta.woodstone.nu/soft/salive51.exe

It includes (amongst others) fixes for MSN and AIM alerting.

Dirk.

When we attempt to use AIM to page, we get a message at the bottom after
clicking test it saying "ProcessSFLAP". I see nothing in the logs.

In MSN it appears to work, however in the log we get:

"MSN message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] failed due to Timeout waiting to connect."

Any ideas? We have a staff member that is on call, and his cell phone does not
have signal at his house. He does not have a pager, and we are trying to
determine the best way to page him. He does have broadband Internet, so we
were thinking to use AIM / MSN to page his home computer. Any ideas or fixes
to AIM/MSN would be appreciated. Thanks,

Matt
