using the %E paramater in the alert will give you the number of
processes running. I cannot help with RRD though.

On a Linux box we have a cron setup to run every 5 minutes that
performs some external monitoring on our WAN. Because it is a cron, if
the previous job runs over the 5 minutes, a new instance will be
launched. Then we have 2 of the same jobs running. If/when we have a

like to be able to alert with the specific number and possibly use RRD
to graph the values (for possible trending).
