First thing is not to focus just on the status but also on the reason of the
"down". In the alert include the %e parameter that will give you the reason
of the down. With that it's often clear why you get a down.

Subject: [SA-list] Keep getting false notifications of services being down.

Hi,

I am running Salive Standard Version 4.1.1609 on a Windows 2003 server.
I have set it up to check certain services such as Exchange, Altiris,
SQL etc. But I keep on getting notifications that those services are
down. This happens around 2-4 times per day.

At first I was getting them at night, so I thought maybe the backups are
triggering them. But now I have started receiving them during the day.
I run salive as service, and have tried running it as both local system
and a user. I get the same results.

This problem started after I moved salive from Windows 2000 to Windows
2003.

Any idea how to troubleshoot this issue?

Thank You.
