Based on the APC web site, if you installed a network
management card in the smart slot then it will give you the SNMP
connectivity.
You can use any one of these (from APC
website):
-----------------------
Network Management Card
Products Part Number
UPS Network Management Card AP9617
UPS Network Management Card w/ Environmental Monitoring & Out of Band Management AP9618
UPS Network Management Card w/ Environmental Monitoring AP9619
Products Part Number
UPS Network Management Card AP9617
UPS Network Management Card w/ Environmental Monitoring & Out of Band Management AP9618
UPS Network Management Card w/ Environmental Monitoring AP9619
------------------------
After
you've done this then the MIB is on the CD that came with the Management card,
and using GETIF (Clusty search for the free software - it's a MIB walker) you
can find the OIDs you need to monitor. Then it's a simple matter to have SA
check it.
Personally my fav is the 9619 so I can monitor temp and humidity in the
data closet as well.
As for
the OIDs I've used, here's a basic few. NOTE: depending on the card you
install not all of these will be available:

Also,
Note, if you are monitoring a large number of APC UPSs (like in a campus
environment) then I recommend purchasing APCs ISX Manager. It will do all
monitoring of devices for you and even keep their firmware up to
date!!!
Hope
this helps!!!!!
