The connect via is for a connection that needs to be made like a dial-up
connection. What I would do in your example is use the ROUTE option of
the upcoming v5.1, with that you can force the IP route and force your
ping to go via the IP of your wireless adapter.

Hello,
   Question on the connect via options in each check.  I'm toying w/ the
idea on now to monitor my wireless access point.  I want to put in a
wireless adapter on my monitoring pc and run a ping check trough it.  Is
there a way to make the adapter show in the connect via dropdown in the
check.  This would enable me to use the wifi instead of the wired lan
for this check.
