Hi

While we're on the topic Dirk, we have a number of help desk staff who
I'd love to be able to give the ability to use the MAINTENANCE UNTIL
feature without having to enable full GUI access. Presently, they're
able to put checks into maintenance by using the SAWeb add-on but as you
well know, this does not give us the "UNTIL" functionality and as such,
relies on someone remembering to take it out of maintenance when the
work is done.

I know that granular user permissions could get very complicated from a
development perspective but having put some thought into it, I only
really see the need for three levels of access:

Admin - Full Access (obviously)
Operator - Able to utilise the "MAINTENANCE UNTIL" feature
View Only - Able to view status of checks

Any chance you could keep this in mind for future versions???

As always, feel a bit guilty for asking for more from a product which is
already doing a fantastic job for us but feel this would be a feature
which would benefit quite a few people.

Thanks!

Greg

Thanks, Dirk! We'll give that a try.

You could set MAINTENANCE UNTIL ... And after the given date/time it
becomes an active entry again.

Is there a way to set a "timed" maintenance mode for a server being
checked by ServersAlive? I find that sometimes a server will be put
into maintenance mode and then, unfortunately, not be turned back on
after the planned outage/maintenance is completed. Thanks for any help!
