1) Outstanding!
2) Will try that later today...
Thanks Dirk,
Ian

1) In the SAIF you can use
SA_RRD_CHECKRESULT_GRAPH_AVAILABLE gets a
value of TRUE or FALSE
SA_RRD_ROUNDTRIP_GRAPH_AVAILABLE gets a value of TRUE or
FALSE
2) From the RRD help:
Usage: rrdtool [options] command
command_options
* dump - dump an RRD to XML
rrdtool dump
filename.rrd >filename.xml

Subject: [SA-list] RE: [SA-list] RRD graphs
1) Ah, ok, hadn't realised that. OK, the next obvious question to follow that is... how do I get my web pages to anticipate that? What I mean is, I have a page that lists all checks, and offers links to the graphs for RTT and CR. If the CR graph doesn't exist, it would be much better not to have a link to it...
Is that list of things that produce a checktype (diskspace - perfmon - snmp) complete? If so, maybe the best way of doing it is to have an SAIF statement based on check type.
2) This may be a silly question, but how do I check if the db has data in it?
A further question (to the community at large...) At the moment I'm using the default RRD graphs. Is anyone doing anything more exciting than that? Any examples people are willing to share?
Thanks,
Ian

1) that's normal, only a few checktype can produce a check result (diskspace - perfmon - snmp )
2) the graph will probably be correct (if it's the hour or day graph), does the db contain data ?

Subject: [SA-list] RRD graphs
A few days down the line, my RRD graphing appears to be working well. However, I notice a couple of things:
1) Whilst all checks have an RTT graph generated, only some have a check result graph (or indeed the RRD database for it). All have checkresult ticked in the logging tab. Any ideas?
2) Some of the graphs (either RTT or CR) don't actually show any data in them.
Is this by design or is there an error somewhere? What can I do to fix it?
Cheers,
Ian
