Hi, we use SMTP2POP3 to check our external mail connection. Since 3 month we got a lot for errors. ServerAlive reported "External COM check (W00000008,7):ERR POP3:-ERR The requested mailbox is not available on this server." In Eventlog on POP3-Server (Exchange 2003 Cluster) we found: Event Source:POP3SVC, Event ID:1106 Description (german): Fehler 0x478 bei Authentifizierungsversuch von 172.31.1.12 für [EMAIL PROTECTED] Means: Authentication attempt from 172.31.1.12 to [EMAIL PROTECTED] has failed with error 0x478. There is no "Failover" of the clustered POP3-Ressource when the error occurs.
We configured 3 retries for POP3, we try the pop3 username 'domain\account\alias' but no success. We got about 1-3 errors/day. It seems that the problem arise with the installation of the cluster.
