Is there any reason why you can't use the recovery tab associated with the service in question rather than rely on SA.

under services.msc >right click the service > click recovery > It should give you three recovery options.

Subject: [SA-list] running a process/exectuable/etc after a check fails?

I'm sure, back in the dim and distant past when I first started using Servers Alive, there used to be an option whereby you could run an executable/batch file/whatever when a check failed  ( I'm convinced that I used to have it set to restart an NT service when it went down, but removed it when we upgraded to a more stable version of the particular software in question)

I'm now finding that one of the services I monitor, on one particular server, is going down for no apparent reason - once restarted, it will carry on without a problem for a considerable time, so as an interim measure until I track down the underlying problem, I wanted to put in something which will restart that service once Servers Alive flags it as 'down', but I cannot find the place to put the restart in ......

Am I going blind, and the option is right in front of me?  Or was it in a past version, but has since been removed? Or am I having hallucinations, and just imagined the whole thing?

Regards
