I need to monitor temperature on a Cisco VPN 3005.  Anyone have the OID information?

Thanks -

Based on the APC web site, if you installed a network management card in the smart slot then it will give you the SNMP connectivity.

You can use any one of these (from APC website):
-----------------------
Network Management Card
Products  Part Number
  UPS Network Management Card    AP9617
UPS Network Management Card w/ Environmental Monitoring & Out of Band Management    AP9618
UPS Network Management Card w/ Environmental Monitoring    AP9619
------------------------

After you've done this then the MIB is on the CD that came with the Management card, and using GETIF (Clusty search for the free software - it's a MIB walker) you can find the OIDs you need to monitor. Then it's a simple matter to have SA check it.

Personally my fav is the 9619 so I can monitor temp and humidity in the data closet as well.

As for the OIDs I've used, here's a basic few. NOTE: depending on the card you install not all of these will be available:
------------------------
.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.2.2.1.0        APC UPS Advanced Battery Capacity

.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.3.2.5.0        APC UPS Advanced Input Line Fail Cause
.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.1.1.0        APC UPS Basic Output Status

.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.2.1.3.0           APC UPS Environment Ambient Temperature 2
.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.2.1.4.0           APC UPS Environment Relative Humidity 2
.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.2.2.2.1.5.1      APC UPS Contact Entry 1
.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.2.2.2.1.5.2      APC UPS Contact Entry 2
.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.2.2.2.1.5.3      APC UPS Contact Entry 3
.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.2.2.2.1.5.4      APC UPS Contact Entry 4
--------------------------------

Also, Note, if you are monitoring a large number of APC UPSs (like in a campus environment) then I recommend purchasing APCs ISX Manager. It will do all monitoring of devices for you and even keep their firmware up to date!!!

Hope this helps!!!!!

Just checking whether anyone is using SAlive to monitor a Smart-UPS RT 10000XLI? If so what/how  are they using SAlive to perform the checks and any MIBS etc available to share.

Thanks
