Why would leaving a check in possible down be bad? Would this mess up the next cycle?

 

If so, I'd rather those check be forced to down with no alerts sent.

Maybe...will have to look at the implications of doing that...but I don't think that leaving an entry in "possible down" is a good idea...so I guess the answer is no.

The stop will not "kill" existing checks, the stop stops the internal timer that enabled the system to go from one entry to the next entry.  BUT if you're at the end of check cycle and within the SK part we're not using that timer and as such the stop doesn't work.

To be honest, I couldn't tell. It was going crazy, we had a router hiccup and all the checkswent down, so as it was sending emails, and checking, I was trying to stop it.

 

Is there anyway to have the stop button kill a check that is in progress? It was quite, ummm interesting, trying to hit the stop button between checks that were timing out.

In short, the 2nd knocks continue after I push the stop button.

This REALLY needs to NOT happen.

The stop needs to STOP, everything. Dead.
