Real sms needs a (gsm)modem.
Sms sending is also possible via the network using the smpp and snpp
protocol.

In all cases you will need access to a gateway that supports the protocol
(modem or network) you're using.

Subject: [SA-list] SMS

I have been using Servers Alive for several years, but never tried alerts
via SMS. ( My phone has email capabilities, and works fine, but..... ) Would
I need a modem, or is there anyway to do this via software, etc. ?

Thanks
Bob
