Just to keep the list a little informed on how things are going with this new
feature (and we are VERY excited about it)
The Win32 agent is written and currently works as service with some hard coded
parameters. Next step for the agent is that is will get some of it's
configuration parameters via a config file (IP's that are allowed to connect,
username/password,...)
A developper was contracted for a *nix version of the agent. There will be a
binary version of the agent (using it's own built-in SSH daemon) and a PERL
version (using the existing installed SSH server)
We already have several test systems ready for the *nix agent:
OpenBSD 4.0
Debian 3.1
NetBSD 3.1
Fedora Core 6
CentOS 3.8
OpenSuse 10.2
Mandriva 2007
Slackware 11
Solaris 10
(test system that should be ready in the next few days: FreeBSD 6.2 and Ubuntu
6.1)
(all test system are i386 systems)
The Win32 client module is 95% ready (some extra error checking needs to be
added) and will be incorporated into Servers Alive in the next days/weeks.
